Forever Beta Starts at Level 20: What You Can Actually Test

Blizzard’s Beta launch notice sets the initial cap at level 20, with level 30 coming later. The opening phase includes Skyborne and Zephras Isle, Hall of Thanes for levels 13–18, Ruins of Lordaeron for levels 15–20, and zone content through level 20. More content and a temporary open-access Server Slam are planned; the notice does not give that event a date. October 21 is listed as the last full testing day.

Why it matters: Use this phase to compare early talent choices, downtime between pulls, and dungeon utility. It cannot establish level-60 raid rankings or prove that a complete endgame build works. If access is missing, verify the Beta license in Battle.net and select Forever Beta under In Development; do not assume installing the client grants eligibility.

Forever Build Planning: Baseline Buffs, Paladin Tools and the Legacy Cap

Blizzard confirms a new 16-point talent milestone alongside the familiar 11-, 21- and 31-point choices. Divine Spirit, Blessing of Kings and Improved Mark of the Wild become baseline. Paladins gain baseline Consecration at level 20; Seal of Fury makes Judgment taunt while active. Legacy is a separate budget: each character can spend 16 points at launch, while up to 65 can be earned. Points are shared across alts, but each character allocates them independently.

Why it matters: Do not copy a Classic buff build unchanged or add Legacy points to your class talent total. Compare what your former utility investment now buys. For Protection Paladin, test the Seal–Judgment setup and mana use rather than treating a taunt as proof of raid superiority. Blizzard still describes gaps such as the lack of an interrupt. Our calculator remains a planning tool, not evidence of final tuning.

Forever Racial Changes: Recheck Human and Undead Before Choosing a Main

Daybreak’s build 1.60.1.69913 snapshot shows Human Sword Specialization granting critical-strike chance while a sword is equipped, replacing its Classic weapon-skill effect. Human Will to Survive removes stuns. The Undead comparison shows Will of the Forsaken removing Charm, Fear and Sleep without the old immunity window, while Cannibalize restores mana as well as health. These are Beta data records, not measured damage rankings or a guarantee of launch behavior.

Why it matters: A Classic race recommendation may rely on a bonus that no longer works the same way. Check your intended weapon, control-break needs and recovery between pulls before committing. PvP players should distinguish removing a control effect from remaining immune afterward. We would not call either race best from these tooltips alone: encounter mix and actual tuning still matter.

Forever Raids Open December 9: Plan for 10- and 20-Player Groups

Blizzard’s roadmap separates the November 4 game launch from the December 9 opening of new raids. Barrow Deeps is planned for a maximum-level group of 10, while Hyjal Summit uses 20 players. The same announcement lists nine new dungeons across Azeroth. These are announced content plans, not proof that every encounter or reward is currently available in Beta.

Why it matters: For a returning guild, decide which group size you can sustain before assigning mains around a 40-player Classic roster. Use the period before raids to explore dungeon roles and build alternatives. A planned raid size tells you how many people to organize; it does not establish required class counts, a final loot priority or a best-in-slot list.

Forever Access Explained: Subscription, Beta and Skyborne Are Different Choices

Blizzard’s upgrade announcement says launch access is included with a WoW subscription or game time. The optional Heroic Pack includes Skyborne and early name reservation; the Epic Pack and Warcraft Forever Collection include Beta access. The announced name-reservation window is October 27–November 3, allowing up to three characters with an upgrade purchase. These benefits should not be read as a requirement to buy an upgrade simply to play Forever at launch.

Why it matters: First decide whether you need the launch game, a particular race, or guaranteed bundle-based Beta access. Those are different decisions. A subscription alone should not be treated as guaranteed closed-Beta eligibility, and the Heroic Pack’s race access should not be confused with the Epic Pack’s Beta benefit. Check the current official edition details before purchasing, especially if your planned main is Skyborne.

MMORPG Interview: Increased Bank Space, Item Discovery, Class Questlines in WoW: Forever

A report on an MMORPG interview with Blizzard covers WoW: Forever additions. The default bank is said to be twice or four times larger, with bags starting at original size. Items are described as obfuscated: stats appear only after an item drops on your server, and there will be no Dungeon Journal or known BiS for the first raid. The built-in damage meter is planned, and some Season of Discovery class quests carried over alongside new and expanded questlines.

Why it matters: These are interview statements rather than final build details, so availability and tuning may shift through Beta. Players should treat item-discovery and bank changes as planned direction, not confirmed launch specifics.

IGN Nordic Interview Details Biome Gear and Horizontal Progression in WoW: Forever

A summarized IGN Nordic interview with Blizzard designers Michael Nuthals and Tim Jones outlines WoW: Forever's approach to horizontal progression. Items can carry biome buffs, such as a speed bonus in deserts, or bonus damage against specific races like dragons. The team says Tier 2 raid loot will be stronger but player power growth will be handled responsibly, and older gear like the Onslaught Girdle should stay useful. Class balance will be reviewed alongside new spells. New quests and expanded questlines are also planned, including content around a kobold cave in northern Elwynn Forest.

Why it matters: These are interview statements about design intentions rather than confirmed final numbers or mechanics, so treat specifics as subject to change. The emphasis on keeping older gear relevant could matter for how players value raid drops.

Forever Beta Known Issues: Starshards, Vengeance and Pet Displays

Blizzard’s known-issues post identifies several problems to check before comparing Beta builds. Starshards does not benefit from Twilight Focus, and Vengeance can trigger from periodic critical strikes; the post marks both for fixes in the next Beta build. Pet character-sheet resource and scaling displays have separate work-in-progress issues. Opening Legacy before level 25 can produce UI errors. These notes describe known problems and planned fixes, not confirmation that those fixes are already live.

Why it matters: If you are testing an affected build, check the latest known-issues post before treating the observed interaction or character-sheet value as intended behavior.
